Chateau Avalon was so honored to be a part of Ft. Leavenworth's PAIR (Post Activities Information & Registration) Day this past weekend.
The Fort invites businesses and organizations to come and be a part of welcoming new soldiers and their families into our community. We were in great company with businesses and organizations such as Nebraska Furniture Mart, Kansas City Kansas Convention & Visitor's Bureau, K-Love radio station, Chick-Fil-A and many others.We were able to hand out coupons and even give away a free night stay! We were thrilled to be able to do even a small part to thank these men and women for the awesome sacrifices they make for our country on a daily basis.

Last week we were excited to announce the opening of the Hollywood Casino. What a great amenity to now have right across the street from the Chateau Avalon. Lots of folks are already taking advantage of our free limo shuttle service between the Chateau Avalon and Hollywood Casino. For those of you staying with us this week make note that the Final Cut Steakhouse at the Hollywood Casino opens on Valentines night. I have already sampled their fare and it is terrific. In addition to this Dave and Busters and other Village West restaurants will be offering special romantic dinners on Valentines Day as well.
While last week the big news was the casino opening west of us, this week there is another big stir just to the north of the Chateau Avalon. In just a few days earthmovers completely scalped the hillside north of us for Cerner's new office campus (see photo). Fortunately for us, we have a full forest of trees surrounding the Chateau Avalon that keep the secluded nature of our hideawy in place. Cerner plans for a 600,000 square foot office campus are now in full swing. Come by and take a look, you will not believe your eyes from a week ago.
