Race weekend just came to a close as I write this. Not all of the drivers were as happy as Jimmy Johnson, who took the checkered flag. Case in point, a certain racecar driver who called on Wednesday of last week to reserve his Favorite room. Unfortunately, we had to inform him that the hotel was sold out and had been for a long time. He told my staff, "but this is my lucky room, I always stay there!" I wish we could have solved it but there is a lesson here. If you have a favorite room, book it early!
October just might be the prettiest month at the Chateau Avalon. From my office the hillside of trees are blanketed in a tapestry of gold, umber, red and green. If you have not been here in October, you should come out! I recommend the rooms on the north side of the
Chateau Avalon so you can really enjoy the hillside views. Rooms like
Colorado Frontier,
Castaway Isle,
Camelot and
Pirate Cove have great views for immersing yourself in the beautiful Kansas Fall.
