In June, 2007 Expedia.com announced that Chateau Avalon successfully qualified for its new Expedia Insiders' Select list. This elite group of approximately 1% of all hotel properties offered on Expedia.com were chosen from more than 300,000 Traveler's Opinions (online reviews) combined with the expertise of Expedia's 300 local experts and hotel market managers worldwide. Chateau Avalon was acknowledged for its combination of excellent service, overall experience and value.

On November 27, 2007 it was announced that, upon completion of a full market audit and review all of the properties in the Greater Kansas City Area and the quality guest experience provided to its customers, Expedia.com upgraded the Chateau Avalon's star rating to its 3.5 classification*...an increase of 1/2 star! This updated star rating now appears on Expedia.com and Hotels.com.

Expedia Insiders' Select

In April, 2008, for the second straight year, Chateau Avalon was acknowledged by Expedia.com to be among the top 100 hotels in America and therefore placed on Expedia's Insiders' Select list. The three major criteria for this designation are excellent service, overall experience and value.

*Expedia uses a system of full and half stars resulting in nine classifications. Each Expedia hotel is rated using a wide array of factors including: service, amenities, aesthetics, quality of hard and soft goods, customer service, recent completed room renovations, press reviews, overall guest experience, and customer feedback.
